Need a Nerd, a leading technology solutions provider based in Invercargill, New Zealand, is seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our dynamic and busy team as a full-time Nerd Leader.
Role Overview: You will play a vital role in providing top-notch technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' environments.
You will be responsible for the day to day managerial support of our Southland based team and assisting with resolving complex technical issues, managing hardware and software deployments, and implementing and communicating effective solutions.
This role requires a strong understanding of technology, excellent problem-solving amd people skills, and a customer-focused approach.
Responsibilities: Technical - Join our team in providing advanced technical support and troubleshooting for desktop systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.
Resolve complex technical issues escalated from technicians, alongside our existing experienced team members.
Deploy and manage desktop & cloud infrastructure.
Identify and recommend improvements to enhance technical performance, security, and efficiency.
Document technical processes, procedures, and configurations accurately and comprehensively.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to desktop engineering and support.
Managerial - Provide leadership and administrative support to the team, including HR, H&S, accountability and resource managment - supported by our Head Office team based in Hawke's Bay.
Reporting to the Group GM on dynamic results.
Monthly reporting to the National group on operations.
Updating and assisting the Group management team.
Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a staff management role, demonstrating a solid understanding of desktop infrastructure and support.
Experience and demonstrable knowledge of NZ employment requirements and Health & Safety regulations.
Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and desktop applications.
Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues effectively.
Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are advantageous but not mandatory.
Knowledge of Eftpos systems advantageous but not mandatory.
Valid driver's license, enabling you to travel to client sites when necessary.
