Team Leader - Commercial and Partnerships Are you a creative and strategic thinker with a passion for community engagement, building meaningful partnerships, and delivering outstanding customer experiences? We are looking for a Team Leader - Commercial and Partnerships to join our team and support the delivery of Te Unua Museum of Southland - a new, landmark cultural destination currently under development in Waihopai Invercargill.
The hours for this position are primarily 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday, although flexibility to work outside of these hours is required.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Leading initiatives which support diverse and sustainable revenue generation.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with community, iwi, government, and business partners to manage a key cultural asset for Southland.
Leading planning, development, and delivery of Te Unua with a focus on commercial activity areas, including cafe, retail, and events.
Leading identifying and accessing external funding opportunities (including grants and sponsorship) for capital projects and operational activities.
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including project contractors to develop inclusive and impactful facilities and experiences for museum users.
What you will bring:
Bachelor's Degree in the Arts, Social Sciences, Business, Management, or a related field.
7 years minimum experience working in the not-for-profit/charitable sector.
Management experience working in at least one of the following commercial activity areas: retail, events management, venue management, food and beverage.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presenting to diverse audiences.
Experience writing grant applications and sponsorship proposals that include compelling messaging and storytelling.
Demonstrated interest and understanding of the role and work of the arts, culture, and heritage sector, specifically museums.
