He angitutanga: The opportunityAn exciting opening is now available in the Henderson Massey Local Board area for a Senior Librarian Children & Youth, currently based at Te Manawa. Te Manawa delivers an integrated service for customers to access library services, creative facilities, community programmes, bookable spaces and customer services all under one roof.
This role is vital for connecting children, youth, and whanau with library services and programmes. You will be responsible for developing and delivering programmes and events for tamariki and rangatahi that are innovative, responsive, and engaging. This senior role has additional leadership responsibilities in supporting the team.
He korero mou: About youWe are seeking an experienced librarian with LIANZA professional registration. You will bring a sound knowledge of library technologies and processes, enthusiasm, and an ability to collaborate in the development, implementation and delivery of services and programmes.
As this is a role that involves working with children and youth and their families, you will have excellent communication, the natural ability to relate well to people of all ages and backgrounds, and strong digital and readers advisory skills.

Te Manawa is open seven days a week, so flexibility around working hours is required. This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week and is currently rostered to work Tuesday to Saturday.
