A rare opportunity is now available for a suitably qualified and experienced legal professional to join the Unison Networks team in the position of Senior Legal Counsel, based at their Hastings Head Office.
Reporting to Unison's Corporate Counsel, you will provide high-quality legal advisory services to Unison Networks Ltd in a commercially relevant and cost-effective manner.
In addition, you may be required to provide legal advisory services in relation to Unison Networks' interest in their subsidiary businesses, in line with Unison's Group Strategy.
A key focus for this role is drafting, reviewing, and assisting in the negotiation of commercial contracts to assist and support Unison's business activities.
In addition, you will provide legal advice to key stakeholders, acting as a "trusted advisor" on legal matters.
You will assess risk and provide options that support stakeholders across the organization with their decision-making.

Key experience, attributes, and qualifications required for this role include: Law degree (LLB) and admission as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand Ideally 5+ years of Post Qualification Legal Experience (PQE) Sound legal experience in areas that are likely to include commercial, contracts, property, regulatory, risk, and compliance High level of commercial acumen/awareness Positive and pragmatic in your approach; able to engage successfully and build relationships Possess highly effective written and verbal communication skills Possess a desire to learn and develop; a team player In return for the above, you'll have the ability to build your legal career and experience with one of Hawke's Bay's leading employers.
