Your focus is to provide leadership and support across the Education Evaluation Centre in relation to the impact of the education system on Maori learners in both English and Maori medium.We see you bringing leadership and evaluation expertise in combination with relationship management skills to build and maintain meaningful and effective working relationships at all levels, both inside and outside the organisation. This includes strong leadership to support the realisation of the organisation's vision and strategic direction.Mohou ake - About youWe want to hear about any of the following in your cover letter and CV:Your knowledge and experience of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, tikanga Maori, and te ao Maori.Where you've demonstrated leadership to deliver, e.g., led by example, demonstrated problem solving, used positive influence to deliver high quality and timely work.Where you have managed complex stakeholders and built enduring and credible relationships.Where you have empowered and supported others to enhance the capabilities required in their current roles and to effectively deliver on their work priorities.Any relationships with Maori or examples of positive relationships working with Maori. It has a mission to provide evaluation insights that are a catalyst for change so that every child achieves success as a lifelong learner. It achieves this through:Being an authoritative voice on the performance and quality of education in New ZealandDeveloping the evidence base about what works to improve learning outcomesSupporting education system reform, evidence-informed decision making, and improvementMonitoring the overall performance of the education systemThematic reviews of aspects of the system (e.g., teaching practice)Deep dives into provision for key groups of learners (e.g., vulnerable children)Showcasing innovations and good practicesAcross the whole of our work programme, we have a strong focus on the principles of the Treaty and the outcomes for Maori learners.As a government agency, we work very closely with Ministers. Te Ihuwaka draws on the wider expertise across ERO, particularly in our expert evaluators and reviewers who work in schools and early childhood education services every day.
