About the Ministry for Regulation:
The Ministry for Regulation is a newly established small government agency with a big job to do.
We're here to improve the quality of regulation so all New Zealanders can flourish. We lead the regulatory management system (the set of policies, institutions, processes and tools employed by central government to pursue and maintain good quality regulation) and contribute to the design and operation of individual regulatory systems.
We are a small group of dedicated professionals, working in a 'can do' environment.

About the role:
Are you ready to play a key role in shaping the future of digital transformation? We are looking for a talented Principal Advisor, Digital and Insights to join our team within the Ministry.
Reporting to the Head of Digital and Insights, this influential role will combine your technical expertise and strategic planning to drive the use of M365 and AI tools. You will help enhance productivity and efficiency, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and recommend process enhancements. You will leverage M365 and AI tools to optimise processes and drive innovation, work collaboratively with teams across the Ministry to implement solutions, build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, and communicate complex technical information in an easy-to-understand manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. About you:
Proven experience with information management, M365 technical roles including SharePoint, Power Automate, Power BI
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a keen attention to detail
Expertise in data visualisation, reporting, and statistical analysis
Proficiency in Azure and Dynamics is ideal
Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex information to technical and non-technical audiences
Experience with data modelling and database design and familiarity with data warehousing concepts
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment
Quick to adapt to new technologies and methodologies
Experience in mentoring, coaching and developing team members
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
