Due to continued growth, Pallas Group's Credit and Loan Management team has an opportunity for an experienced Paralegal to join the team.
Job Description About the role The purpose of the Paralegal role is to manage the documentation and settlements process of construction and commercial real estate loans once approved by the Credit Team or Investment Committee.
This role liaises internally with the Credit, Origination, and Loan Management team and externally with external legal counsel to ensure the smooth settlement of loan transactions.
Key Responsibilities: Instructing panel solicitors to prepare loan documentation for new loan approvals Reviewing loan security documentation and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness to enable settlement Oversee the negotiation of any loan security documentation amendments Liaise with the Credit team on satisfying loan conditions and oversee loan settlement to financial close Assist the Loan Management team with legal portfolio requirements including loan variations, discharge of security, and consents Assist Head of Credit with loan management and recoveries Desired Skills and Experience About you Strong computer skills including MS Office with particularly strong skills in MS Excel Highly effective communication style, both written and verbal Proficient with property settlement process Understanding of commercial lending in either credit assessment or credit assistance Previous experience as a Conveyancing Clerk, Conveyancer, Paralegal, or Settlements Officer Commercial property lending experience with a banking institution or non-bank lender The people are entrepreneurial, the business is young and proving itself fast: it is a great time to join the group.
