We are currently looking for a Contracts Supervisor to join the team at our New Zealand Aluminium Smelter (NZAS). This role is accountable for daily Contractor management and long-term asset maintenance planning and execution.
This is a great opportunity for a passionate individual to expand their knowledge base and learn how our systems and tools function at a detailed level. Reporting to the Superintendent, Contractor Maintenance & Services working within a diverse team you will be:
Responsible for long term Asset planning and execution of major maintenance projects, developing scopes of work, bid evaluation, procurement support and contract delivery.
Delivering project management across a diverse range of contracting partners primarily focused on Asset management.
Compiling and reporting on look-ahead schedules involving Operations and Maintenance to ensure delivery schedules are met.
Liaising daily with the Contract teams on the work underway with Safety, Quality, Work-supervision, and costing oversight.
Facilitation of internal and external resources to develop high quality solutions to difficult project issues, implementing on agreed actions.
What you'll bring
A high commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
Higher School Qualification Level Three NZEA or equivalent.
Proven skill set in a comparable role.
Experience with SAP business systems as applied to maintenance.
Experience in contractor management including HSE, work scope and commercial.

Based at Tiwai Point in New Zealand's south, NZAS makes aluminium with one of the lowest carbon footprints in the world, and it is the only aluminium smelter to produce ultra-high purity metal using renewable hydroelectricity. Receiving the majority of its alumina from our Yarwun and Queensland Alumina Limited refineries in Gladstone, Australia, the smelter produces more than 335,000 tonnes of aluminium each year.
