Manawatu Horowhenua Tararua Diabetes Trust – Manawatu County We are seeking an energetic Youth Coordinator (.25FTE) to join our team!
There is some flexibility in the hours worked (up to 10 hours per week), and will include some Friday nights, Sundays, and possibly one weekend per year for our Youth/Family camp.
This role has a focus on supporting youth and their families/whanau with diabetes.
It has some great variety and scope ranging from meeting with newly diagnosed whanau/rangatahi, running support group meetings (including online), assisting with Health & Safety processes, social media, and our youth newsletter/written reports.
Relevant Experience: Working with youth and families such as sports coaching, teaching, church work Planning, delivering, and evaluating programmes and events for young people Working in community or social services, with people from a variety of cultures Experience with supporting people with health, disability, and illness issues Qualifications and Skills: NZ driver's licence Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain High level of interpersonal skills Excellent written and oral communication Knowledge of social media, FB, Instagram Demonstrated excellent organisational and time management skills Personal Attributes: Effective team member Ability to work in a complex and changing health environment Honest, reliable, and trustworthy Compassionate and non-judgemental Confident and professional Ability to self-evaluate and reflect on service Ability to problem solve, think outside the box, and bring innovation in the delivery of MHTDT youth events This is a great opportunity to work with a professional team that has a passion for providing high-quality service.

The MHT Diabetes Trust is a Charitable Trust that serves the people of the Manawatu, Horowhenua, and Tararua (MHT) regions.
We also provide free diabetes group education and support groups for people with pre-diabetes and diabetes throughout the MidCentral North Island.
