This is a Full-Time Role.
Do you have the skills or knowledge, and could you build a 2- or 3-bedroom transportable house and teach students to build?
Are you a passionate Carpenter who has residential Building Skills and can relate to young people about the building industry and what it has done for you both professionally and personally?
The successful candidate will teach, lead, and support AGC's construction students in gaining knowledge and skills through authentic learning and applying them in real-world work experiences. The perfect candidate would be able to demonstrate their success in teaching and mentoring young adult learners.
To meet the requirements of this role and align with the AGC team, the successful candidate ideally will:
have a current LBP license
hold a relevant qualification in residential construction
have experience with modern residential construction practices and job site management
show the last five years of experience working in the construction industry
demonstrate your experience in adult education (preferably face-to-face delivery)
be able to assist with designing learning activities and assessment material
understand the tertiary education sector
respect students' individuality to ensure learning experiences meet varying needs
inspire students with their own passion for learning and self-improvement
enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds
apply a solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
have sound computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office suites
be reliable, self-managing, adaptable to change and a positive team member.
