Join the team at Cardrona this winter as Patrol Avalanche Technician! You'll play a crucial role in ensuring mountain safety, blending expertise in avalanche management, snow science, and safety training. With over 4 years of patrol experience and an Avalanche Level 6 certification, your leadership skills shine through.
Your responsibilities will be varied, supporting the Snow Safety Supervisor and Assistant Snow Safety in a range of duties from implementing the Snow Safety Plan, managing Avalanche control teams, and leading effective Patrol Staff Training. Beyond technical prowess, your role involves engaging with guests, contributing to mountain tidiness, and assisting various departments. Essential skills include snowmobile operation, top-notch customer service, and a deep understanding of the Cardrona snow safety program.
Your success will hinge on personal attributes like initiative, effective communication, and remaining calm under pressure. Flexibility and collaboration across departments are the keys to ensuring the mountain's overall efficiency and safety.
What do we need from you?
At least 4 years working as a ski patroller/guide; forecasting experience is an advantage.
Avalanche Risk Management level 6, or equivalent, or currently on the pathway to gaining certification.
PHEC / 1st Aid Qualification.
CIMS training.
Skills in snowmobile operation.
Top-notch customer service, and a deep understanding of snow safety programs.
