Te Turanga - The Role

We are seeking an experienced Architect to join our dynamic team at Tait Communications. This pivotal role will focus on supporting the technical solution architecture for our broadband focused products. The successful candidate will need to appreciate the physical elements of the solutions while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of how the overall solution is designed and how components interact.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Designing and developing scalable, secure, and robust software architecture for device-centric solutions, ensuring they meet customer needs and product goals.

Collaborating closely with product management, system engineers, and cross-functional teams to understand customer requirements and translate them into actionable architectural designs.

Acting as the primary liaison between customer requirements, product management directives, and engineering teams, ensuring seamless communication and implementation.

Providing technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams throughout the design and development process.

Implementing best practices for security, ensuring all solutions meet stringent security requirements for on-premises deployments and cloud-based services.

Supporting the integration of physical hardware and software components, ensuring that all elements work cohesively within the overall architecture.

Defining a 3-5-year vision for product technology and working with stakeholders to turn this vision into actionable and deliverable work items, considering resourcing and budgeting constraints.

O pukenga - About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in technical architecture, design, and development.

As well as:

Strong understanding of broadband device technologies, including prevalent standards (e.g., 3GPP, Wi-Fi).

Experience designing and deploying applications and systems with stringent security requirements.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

Proven ability to gather and incorporate customer feedback to drive improvements in solutions.

Commitment to mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.
