The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Line Designer to join our Network Team. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that the inspection, maintenance, and renewal of our power lines are conducted in a manner that aligns with the Company's strategic objectives. This involves not only maintaining the current operational efficiency and safety of the network but also planning for its sustainable future.
Key Accountabilities
Line Design, Renewal, Maintenance, and Optimisation - Set and maintain design standards. Create and review line designs, identify optimisation opportunities, and audit inspections. Ensure compliance, assist with renewals, and update design templates in Neara.
Customer Engagement - Collaborate with customers and landowners to ensure safe and compliant projects. Protect works through easements and provide technical input for customer-initiated projects.
Lines & Technical Inspections - Provide input on technical requirements for line and overhead switchgear inspections and assist in managing and coordinating inspections as needed.
Join Us If You Have:
A qualification in line design or similar is preferred.
Minimum of 5-7+ years' experience in distribution or overhead line designs.
Experience using Neara for line design is preferred.
Understanding of AS/NZS 7000, AS/NZS 1170, NZECP 34 and Electricity Act 1992.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
Ability to organize and motivate oneself to meet deadlines.
