ProCare have launched Comprehensive Primary Care Team (CPCT), a pioneering model aimed at enhancing health equity by expanding service access through innovative roles within existing general practice teams.
This initiative is fully funded through to end of June 2025 and integrates allied health, social work, paramedics, and pharmacy professionals into practices to better serve Maori and Pacific whanau. Funding supports free patient access to essential services, easing pressure on GP teams while improving on-site family-focused care.
About the Role
As the Whanau Voice Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and amplifying the voices of whanau. Your mission will be to ensure their insights are heard and acted upon, influencing system-level decisions and improvements to deliver support that truly meets their needs.
Build and nurture strong relationships with our Maori and Pacific providers who are hosting Kaiawhina roles
Develop and oversee the implementation of evaluation of the experience of whanau with the CPCT service
Support the development of the CPCT staff's cultural competency
Blend te ao Maori values with strategic input, driving meaningful changes
Connect with diverse stakeholders to enhance the visibility of whanau voices
About You
To excel in this role, you'll need:
A deep commitment to the importance of whanau voices and ethical practices
Experience in both public and social/community sectors
A proven track record of implementing effective systems and achieving outcomes in a change environment
Insight into diverse cultural experiences and issues, especially for Maori, Pacific, whaikaha/disability, and takatapui/rainbow communities
Expertise in designing and establishing new systems and functions
Extensive experience in te ao Maori and working collaboratively with iwi and Maori organizations
Excellent relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders
