Through its 16 colleges, UIC produces nationally and internationally recognized multidisciplinary academic programs in concert with civic, corporate and community partners worldwide, including a full complement of health sciences colleges.Description:Position Summary:The Department of Surgery at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a Research Associate I - Social Science to join the Department of Surgery. The Research Associate I - Social Sciences conducts research by preparing literature reviews and assisting with the collection, entering, coding, and cleaning of data and descriptive results.Duties & Responsibilities:Assist in research activities and participate in a variety of collaborative projectsApply research principles and relevant subject matter knowledge to administer a research projectWith a moderate level of direction, manage research-related duties and tasksSupport data collection efforts, conduct literature reviews, and help write reportsEnsure project compliance with different policies and proceduresMaintain and process required paperworkCoordinate research activities including scheduling, tracking, and completing study activitiesWork closely with the Director of Clinical Research to ensure correct implementation and compliance with study protocolsAssist in developing training materials for new staffAssist in developing and compiling summary data, progress reports, and support for presentationsCommunicate effectively and professionally with all members of the research team, study participants, and learnersAssist the Director of Clinical Research with administrative tasksParticipate in special projects as assignedQualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in social science or related field required.Knowledge of fundamental research concepts, practices, and procedures.Entry-level knowledge of research methods.
