Position Summary:
The Department of Surgery at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a Research Associate I - Social Science to join the Department of Surgery. The Research Associate I - Social Sciences conducts research by preparing literature reviews and assisting with the collection, entering, coding, and cleaning of data and descriptive results.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in research activities and participate in a variety of collaborative projects
Apply research principles and relevant subject matter knowledge to administer a research project
With a moderate level of direction, manage research-related duties and tasks
Support data collection efforts, conduct literature reviews, and help write reports
Ensure project compliance with different policies and procedures
Maintain and process required paperwork
Coordinate research activities including scheduling, tracking, and completing study activities
Work closely with the Director of Clinical Research to ensure correct implementation and compliance with study protocols
Assist in developing training materials for new staff
Assist in developing and compiling summary data, progress reports, and support for presentations
Communicate effectively and professionally with all members of the research team, study participants, and learners
Assist the Director of Clinical Research with administrative tasks
Participate in special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in social science or related field required.
Knowledge of fundamental research concepts, practices, and procedures.
Entry-level knowledge of research methods.
