About the role We have a great opportunity for an experienced Trade Mark Administrator/Manager to join our trade mark practice, working with our current Trade Mark Manager, liaising with the legal team on trade mark issues and reporting to the responsible partner.
You'll be responsible for a range of trade mark activities and comfortable working directly with the IPONZ, IP Australia and WIPO, as well as through local agents for IP offices in other international jurisdictions.
Responsibilities may include searches, filing, and registration (including liaison with relevant IP offices); management of trade mark portfolios; monitoring and management of renewals; liaising with overseas agents and law firms; management and maintenance of our trade mark database; client and internal reporting; drafting of standard IP agreements; and assisting on IP due diligence work.
There will also be some general office administration for the firm.
The role works closely with the legal team and our broader business team, and there is plenty of opportunity for direct interaction with clients and other external stakeholders.
There's wide flexibility in how we structure the role, for instance start / finish times, days worked and, in due course, working from home as well as the office.
We are open to part-time applicants looking for anywhere between 10 to 30 hours a week.
About you You will have some experience of a similar role and be ready to contribute your skills and knowledge of trade mark management to enhance our practice.
You'll adeptly juggle having several tasks and deadlines at any one time, being able to prioritise and progress delivery, with a strong focus on deadlines, accuracy and attention to detail.
Our interactions with clients, agents and law firms will benefit from your proactive, client-centred approach and relationship management skills, working alongside others in the team to ensure we understand and deliver to client requirements.
Experience with trade mark databases is a must, preferably with Inprotech.
You will have a good command of the MS office suite and be comfortable using a range of systems and tools to manage your own work effectively and efficiently, and better still, be curious to identify ways we can improve our processes and practices overall.
