An exciting opportunity to join the Stored Goods Team within Corporate Services in Auckland is now available. About this role Mo tenei turanga mahi The New Zealand Customs Service is seeking a Corporate Services Officer (Stored Goods) primarily based at the Auckland Airport area (parking provided). This role is a permanent full-time position, working with a small friendly team of other CSOs, reporting to the Team Leader Stored Goods. Hours of work will be between 08.00am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (inclusive). The Corporate Services team is part of the wider Enterprise Services Group and is responsible for providing sustainable, efficient, and effective corporate services within Customs. As a Corporate Services Officer in the Stored Goods Team, you will be working with a small team dedicated to the management and maintenance of stored goods. You will have a client-centric focus, with a professional attitude, high integrity, calm manner, and sound judgement, ensuring quality standards are maintained. This role is dynamic, busy, and interesting. It offers variety and requires a component of activity that would suit someone not wanting to be fully desk-based and is able to manage some lifting and standing. Holding a forklift license could be beneficial, but not mandatory. To be successful as our Corporate Services Officer - Stored Goods, the following knowledge, experience, skills, and personal attributes are required: Having previous experience in stored goods is beneficial but not a prerequisite. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to identify issues that need to be investigated further and to recognise when information appears to be incorrect. Highly organised individual who is honest and trustworthy. Being dynamic and able to adjust at times when the work dictates. How to apply To join Customs in any role, you must be a New Zealand citizen or NZ permanent resident. This means: A New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in New Zealand for the last 5 years and resides in NZ at the time of application; OR A New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident who has resided in New Zealand for the last 5 years and resides in NZ at the time of application. You may have been absent from New Zealand for periods of six or more months within the past five years, preferably in one or more of the following countries: either Australia, Canada, UK, or the USA. You will be required to provide overseas police certificates for these periods spent outside of New Zealand. You must have a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service towards a recommendation of suitability for security clearance at a higher level. Due to the nature of Customs work, you must have a clear Police record. The successful applicant will also be required to pass a drug test as well as being subject to random, ongoing drug tests during their period of employment with Customs. These requirements apply to all successful applicants for roles at Customs and Customs employees.
