Our shops are busy and vibrant and often a social hub in the community for regular shoppers and donors. They are also a vital source of fundraising for Harbour Hospice. The income from our shops ensures that Harbour Hospice can continue to support our patients and their families in our in-patient units and at their homes in the community.
We have a fabulous team of volunteers who work in our shops and we couldn't do what we do without them. Come and experience the joy of being part of our team.
We need your help! We're looking for volunteers to join our retail team. The Covid pandemic has had a huge impact on Hospice, closing our shops for many weeks. Your own life has probably been impacted too. Maybe you find yourself with time on your hands or maybe you just want to do something different or try something new. Hospice volunteering gives you the opportunity to give something back to your community and can make a positive difference in how you feel. The reasons for volunteering and donating the gift of your time are endless but are so important to us.
About the role:Volunteering in a Hospice shop is a great way to meet interesting people, use your skills or gain new ones. Full training is provided.
Our volunteers work regular, 3-4 hour shifts, either weekly or fortnightly, helping to sort donations, greet and serve our customers, and keep our shops looking fantastic. Our shops can be bustling places and there is always something to do. It takes a team effort to get the work done but we have fun and make friendships along the way.
If you have the time to help out Harbour Hospice, we really want to hear from you. You can make all the difference!
