Traditional Thai Sizzlers is looking for two Thai Chefs who will be working with our team to produce authentic Thai food.
Requirements Knowledge of Thai food ingredients and cooking techniques AND At least 3 years of related work experience OR At least a related NZ Register Diploma Level 4 qualification (overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification) OR A National Skill Standard Test for Thai Chef (Level 1) from Thailand Job Descriptions Prepare and Cook Thai Cuisine: Plan, prepare, and cook a variety of traditional Thai dishes, including curries, stir-fries, soups, and salads, adhering to authentic recipes and ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
Menu Planning and Development: Collaborate with a shop manager to develop and refine menu items, introducing new dishes that reflect seasonal availability and customer preferences.
Quality Control: Ensure all dishes meet high standards of quality, flavor, and presentation, conducting regular checks to maintain consistency and excellence.
Stock Management: Collaborate with a shop manager to monitor and manage inventory levels of ingredients and kitchen supplies, ordering stock as required and managing waste to control food costs.
Kitchen Operations: Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and in line with health and safety regulations.
Training and Supervision: Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring they understand and adhere to kitchen protocols and culinary techniques.
Compliance and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations as per local laws.
Cost Management: Collaborate with a shop manager in managing food and labor costs, optimizing portion control, and minimizing waste to maintain profitability.
Other detail This is a full-time and permanent position Wage payment is $29.66 per hour, and you will be paid weekly Holiday pay and sick leave will be paid according to the law You will be working at Shop 5, 615 Great South Road, Manukau 2104 We are open Monday to Sunday 10.30 am – 9.30 pm.
You will work according to a roaster 5 - 6 days each week with a guarantee of 30 hours (a maximum of 48 hours) Please note that applicants for this position should have NZ citizenship/residency or a valid NZ work visa.
