You would be required to perform the following duties:
Establish communications systems by installing, operating, and maintaining voice and data telecommunications network circuits and equipment.
Determine routing and placement of cabling, wiring, and fiber optics.
Plan network installations by studying customer orders, plans, manuals, and technical specifications.
Assess the installation site and prepare an installation diagram.
Establish voice and data networks by running, pulling, terminating, and splicing cables.
Install telecommunications equipment, routers, switches, multiplexors, and cable trays.
Verify service by testing circuits and equipment, and identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
Document network by labeling and routing equipment and cables, and recording configuration diagrams and specifications.
Maintain network by troubleshooting and repairing outages, testing network backup procedures, and updating documentation.
Prepare estimates, project timelines, and maintain risk registers and contingency plans.
Provide guidance to team members and allocate tasks in proportion.
Plan the development of customer access telecommunications network infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations.
Locate faults with several devices such as a visual fault locator and measure the power level of the optical network in the telecommunication field.
Update all the used routes in the network by informing the dispatch team.
The successful candidate will have:
A relevant qualification at level 4 or higher, or at least three years experience in a similar role.
The ability to work in New Zealand.
A can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
