You are an innovative, forward-thinking leader ready to take the reins in driving cloud and infrastructure solutions for a large, complex organization. As a Technical Product Owner, you'll be instrumental in setting the direction of Auckland Council's cloud infrastructure, guiding teams to deliver high-impact solutions that scale, and ensuring that we stay at the forefront of technology trends.
You have a passion for cloud innovation, a deep understanding of security and identity management, and expertise in DevOps practices. You excel in collaborating with cross-functional teams, building strong vendor relationships, and driving the adoption of new technologies that continuously improve our infrastructure. You're a natural leader with a focus on creating high-performing teams and fostering a culture of agility, resilience, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Shape & Prioritize the Cloud Roadmap: Collaborate closely with the Architecture Team to develop and prioritize a cloud and infrastructure strategy that aligns with Auckland Council's long-term goals and evolving business needs.
Oversee Hybrid Infrastructure & Security: Lead the management of both physical and cloud infrastructure, ensuring robust security, seamless integration, and compliance with industry standards for identity management.
Drive DevOps Adoption & Efficiency: Champion DevOps practices across teams, promoting automation, continuous integration, and operational efficiency to accelerate delivery and improve performance.
Collaborate with Vendors: Work alongside cloud providers and technology vendors to design scalable, resilient cloud solutions, ensuring that they meet business requirements and service-level agreements (SLAs).
Ensure Reliability & Resilience: Oversee the implementation of infrastructure solutions that are reliable, resilient, and optimized for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability, ensuring long-term alignment with the organization's needs.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
10+ years' experience in network services or infrastructure, with proven expertise in product management, cross-functional team leadership, and driving cloud transformation.
Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and product development best practices.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
Proven track record of successfully leading teams, driving initiatives, and solving complex, technical challenges.
