As a Technical Business Analyst focused on data governance, you'll lead initiatives to ensure data security, compliance, and quality across One NZ. You'll conduct impact assessments to understand how new requirements affect existing data structures and processes. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing data purging protocols, encryption measures, access controls, and data masking techniques to protect sensitive information. You'll capture and document all data governance requirements, manage data and metadata using our new governance tool, and support the data governance squad in maintaining our framework. Working within an Agile squad, you'll collaborate closely with stakeholders to develop and maintain a comprehensive data catalog, ensuring all standards are followed. You'll also monitor the data governance tool, continuously improving our practices to enhance data security, compliance, and overall data management effectiveness.
Ko to mahi – what you'll do Bridge business needs and technical solutions, supporting data engineers and architects.
Design data pipelines and solutions to meet business requirements.
Identify and document source data, platforms, and logical flows.
Ensure compliance with data governance policies and standards.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive data catalog with clear metadata.
Identify and mitigate data management risks, monitoring governance metrics.
Support Product Owners in stakeholder management and use case evaluation.
Na tou rourou - what you'll bring Strong data modelling skills with a deep understanding of relational and dimensional modelling concepts.
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, particularly in data analytics and storage solutions.
Proficiency in Azure Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics.
Expert-level SQL skills for complex querying and data manipulation.
Solid understanding of Agile methodologies.
Ability to adapt to various project management approaches similar to Agile.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and business stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Proactive approach to learning and staying updated with the latest data technologies and trends.
A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
