We are looking for an innovative and dynamic Team Leader - Experience to join our team and support the delivery of Te Unua Museum of Southland – a new, landmark cultural destination currently under development in Waihopai Invercargill. Key responsibilities for this role include: Leading the planning, development and delivery of fantastic museum experiences Leading curatorial research activities to promote and celebrate connection and understanding of the cultural, social and natural history of Murihiku Southland Supporting Council's delivery of Te Unua Museum of Southland and leading operational preparedness with a focus on Experience Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, mana whenua, community members, consultants, contractors and community groups to develop inclusive and impactful museum experiences What you will bring: Bachelor's Degree of the Arts or Social Sciences Postgraduate Diploma in Museum and Heritage Studies, or equivalent experience New Zealand Drivers Licence Previous working experience with mana whenua and a sound understanding of bicultural and multicultural aspects of our community 5 years minimum experience working in a public museum, art gallery or heritage organisation in exhibition and programming activity areas Demonstrable experience and ability to undertake research and academic and creative writing What we offer: Career progression and training/development opportunities Positive focus on employee health and well-being: Workstation assessments, free flu vaccines, EAP services, 50% off eye exams, discounted gym memberships etc. Kiwisaver and Superannuation Schemes Access to sick leave from day one of employment Appointment time leave: Up to 2 hours for important appointments eg.
