Te Turanga | About the Role:
Reporting directly to Silver Fern Farms' Group Financial Controller, our Tax & Compliance Lead plays a crucial part in ensuring Silver Fern Farms is financially compliant and focuses on the mitigation of tax and compliance risks.
The role ensures we have the correct policies and procedures in place to minimize tax risk, both in NZ and overseas, runs compliance reporting for monthly GST, quarterly FBT and income tax returns. This position also has responsibilities covering annual transfer pricing and accounting for Silver Fern Farms' overseas subsidiaries.
In addition to technical delivery in Tax and Compliance, our Tax Lead also manages partnerships with our external consultants and tax advisory partners.
This role, done well, ensures we meet our obligations from a tax perspective, while also proactively improving our position and partnership so we better meet our obligations in the future.
Key tasks would include:
Support, build and maintain tax and business regulatory compliance
Provide accounting and financial control services for local and overseas subsidiaries
Identify and mitigate tax risks and improve group tax efficiencies
Assist with the development of policy and procedures that are consistent with organisational policy and comply with legislation
Ou Pukenga | About You:
You're a tax and compliance expert who is confident in liaising with external tax advisors and excited to keep up to date with all relevant legislative requirements. You'll be the central tax and overseas compliance expert, so will understand both NZ and foreign tax obligations. In addition, you should have:
Relevant tertiary qualification with a CA designation
Excellent technical accounting and tax knowledge, commercial acumen
Experience working with accounting and financial control services for overseas subsidiaries
Strong analytical skills and outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and build on working relationships effectively
Demonstrated knowledge of legal and legislation compliance
