Sea of Ink tattoo & piercing studio is a modern and custom-made studio located at Takapuna, Northshore. We opened our doors in 2017 in one of the hottest spots in Takapuna city centre. With the aim of being a spectacular studio, we established a close team of professional artists who specialize in different tattooing skills and art styles. We value our team of artists and piercers while pushing each other and helping our peers with our creative practice. Our focus is on the Sea of Ink studio's clients. We believe in high standards of health and hygiene within the studio and will continue to strive to provide our clients a safe space for tattoos whilst aiming to satisfy their needs in excellent art.
We now need one Tattoo Artist for a full-time position. The working hours are from 10 am to 5 pm, with potential weekend roster if necessary. You can expect an hourly rate between $29.66 to $31 per hour, with a guaranteed 30 hours per week and a maximum of 50 hours.
As a Tattoo Artist, you will be required to perform the following tasks:
Discuss with clients about tattoo size, color, and suitable placement.
Show clients tattoo designs to help them make decisions.
Shave and clean relevant areas of the client's body in preparation for tattoo applications.
Use various techniques to create permanent or temporary tattoo patterns.
Use proper equipment to perform body piercing.
Advise clients on how to take care of tattoos and piercings.
Establish good rapport with clients.
Adhere to health and safety regulations.
Requirements for this role include:
At least 3 years of related work experience or a relevant qualification.
Sound knowledge and skills about tattooing and piercing.
An eye for detail and creativity, with the ability to come up with original designs.
Good communication and customer service skills; client satisfaction is paramount.
Good time management skills to cope with multi-tasking if necessary.
Compliance with any pre-employment criminal record checks and drug testing.
