Job Description

The Security Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimising security solutions that protect TWG's IT infrastructure and data. Their primary objective is to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, applications, and networks, while continuously improving security posture. The Security Engineer will work closely with various teams to resolve security incidents, reduce risks, and support the overall security strategy, ensuring maximum performance and availability for all TWG businesses.
The successful person will be a key member of our Cybersecurity & Business Continuity team forming part of the Technology Operations Business Unit.
A snapshot of the role will have you involved in:

Resolve security incidents within agreed SLAs, minimising disruption and addressing threats promptly.
Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure (e.g., firewalls, EDR, SIEM) for optimal performance.
Participate in effective and efficient continual improvement initiatives of TWG's IS infrastructure by identifying security improvements based on root-cause analysis and incident findings, ensuring system resilience and security supporting our Productivity Toolsets.
Participate in incident response activities for external and internal threats.
Contribute to lifecycle management of security tools, ensuring effectiveness and alignment with TWG's strategy.

This position has an On-Call component to it.

Qualifications

We work in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment with key deadlines and pathways; being nimble to change with a strong ability to adapt quickly to priorities and deliver to tight deadlines will be key!
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in security engineering or cybersecurity operations, supporting security tools and systems (e.g., EDR, certificates, vulnerability scanners, SIEM, NDR).
Experience within a large enterprise or complex IT environment.
Up-to-date understanding of current and emerging security threats, attack vectors, and threat intelligence.
Deep understanding of security-related protocols (e.g., SSL/TLS, VPN, IPsec) and encryption standards.
Proficiency with security solutions such as CrowdStrike, vulnerability scanners, Darktrace, and logging platforms (e.g., SIEM).
Familiarity with server operating systems, cloud platforms, and virtualization technologies from a security perspective.
Strong knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
Experience with security compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, PCI DSS, NIST).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
