As one of our Strategic Business Partners, you'll be the go-to person for our senior leaders, supporting them in developing, and empowering our people to perform at their best.
You will be someone with a strategic mindset and collaborate with people leaders to align their goals with the bigger picture, and provide guidance and support on all people-related matters.
You'll take a risk management approach and be a skilled coach. So the right person for this role will have developed strong ER skills and is comfortable with sitting in the coaching space even through difficult conversations.
To be successful in this role we are seeking experienced HR Business Partners, who can effectively engage with and manage the expectations of leaders in a complex and fast-paced environment. You will be comfortable in aligning the People Strategy with business plans and ensuring a positive people experience for our people leaders and employees.

Our ideal applicant will have HR and ER experience working with large organisations across diverse work-groups. We are looking for someone who enjoys engaging and guiding people leaders through a broad range of people issues while also focussing on retaining, developing, and empowering our people to perform at their best.
You will have experience collaborating with people leaders to align their goals with the bigger picture and alongside the People Strategy.
In this role, you'll join a great team and partner with people leaders to provide quality business-focused advice. At a high level, you will be responsible for:
Building strong relationships with people leaders across your portfolioUnderstanding business plans and aligning this with the People Strategy to achieve resultsManaging and resolving complex employee relations issues, including performance improvement plans, disciplinary procedures, and grievancesMentor and coach others to support the development of the wider People Operations teamProviding operational support and advice on employment relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, mediation and partnering with managers with a range of complexity Fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture that promotes high performance and engagement across the organisationTo be successful in this role, you will have:
5-8 years' generalist HR experience, ideally across a wide range of organisations including the public sectorability to quickly build strong, trusted relationships with senior leaders and will have high levels of adaptability and resilience.ability to influence and effectively engage with stakeholders across a wide range of professional disciplinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven capability to develop sound solutions to complex issues.A commitment to honouring our responsibility to Maori and building your own Maori capability (even if you're right at the beginning of that journey)A good track record of managing complex ER issues with a sound knowledge of employment legislation.The appointing salary for this role will be between $110,766 and $154,680 based on skills and experience.
