Main Duties

Assist in menu development and innovation by suggesting new dishes, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
Assist the Head Chef with the daily management and operation of the kitchen.
Work autonomously and assume the responsibility of the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, presentation, and food safety procedures.
Work closely with the management team to manage inventory, control costs, and maximize profitability.
Pay attention to ensure all equipment is used in a safe and correct manner to avoid accidents.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, special requests, and dietary preferences.
Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes, including stir-fries, noodles, soups, dumplings, and rice dishes, according to established recipes and standards.
Monitor food quality and taste to ensure consistency and adherence to our high standards.
Rotate stock daily to ensure all fridges and freezers are kept tidy.
Collaborate with the management team to streamline workflow and optimize efficiency during busy periods.
Uphold food safety and sanitation practices in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Job Pre-requisites

We are open Tuesdays to Sundays. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
At least three years of experience working as a Chinese Chef or Cook in a restaurant setting is a must.
Must possess a keen eye for detail and a hard-working attitude.
Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Must be able to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time.
Must maintain personal cleanliness to ensure high standards of hygiene.
The successful candidate must pass a police check and drug test.
