Located at our historic address in the heart of the CBD, Clarence Tauranga offers guests a vibrant and contemporary Mediterranean wine & dine bar experience. Delicious food for every occasion and every day, paired by the best wines from NZ and abroad.
We relaunched our kitchen concept in early 2024 - combining our two venues to create one unique mediterranean offering for all our guests. Alongside our a la carte offering we now host a range of private events, work functions and parties which will be catered for with set menus and canape menus.
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Sous Chef or experienced CDP who is eager to grow in a reputable and professional kitchen brigade. Guided by one of the best in the country you will be leading our Clarence kitchen team to become the next Top spot in Tauranga CBD. A brand new kitchen fit out, great equipment and a beautiful metropolitan restaurant setup is waiting for you.

Our new Sous chef's responsibilities will be:
- Nurturing and maintaining a great staff culture to ensure your team strives for excellence
- Leading the kitchen team in absence of our Executive Chef
- Assisting in menu development
- Ensuring a high standard operation, efficiency and quality

- Min of 40 hours but average of 45 hours per week.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Great passion for food and a professional work ethic.
- 2 years in professional kitchens cooking in New Zealand or abroad in a similar role.
- Strive towards being the best, personal and team growth, with a, lead from the front mentality.
- Excellent and transparent communicator.
- Strong organisational skills and time management.
- Ability to multitask and great communication skills.
- Flexible availability.
- Humble attitude.
