YOUR ROLE
Our Integration Services team is looking for a Solution Designer for the Correspondence/IDAM domain. As a Solution Designer, you bring unique value through your extensive expertise in microservice architecture and your ability to harmonize our design principles with the overarching API Product strategy. A core responsibility is to interpret domain-specific product requirements from discovery with the assistance of stakeholders and domain architects. The documented solution and estimates will be owned by the designer and enable squads to move to delivery without barriers. The solution designer will govern the use of integration patterns to ensure they are secure, standardized, reusable, and align with our integration strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Document solution designs and estimations to enable project teams to deliver without barriers.
Collaborate with Integration Architects, Domain Leads, and Security Architecture to validate solutions.
Work with Portfolio Managers to sequence and prioritize demand for the integration domain.
Provide status updates as programs of work progress from inception through validation and sign-off to commence delivery.
Work with product stakeholders and domain architects to define API solutions that are secure, standardized, reusable, and align with the integration product strategy.
Represent Integration services at architecture governance forums to ensure best design principles are adopted or register tech debt.
Provide consultancy to the governing body of API Standards, Practices, and Governance.
Design solutions that align with strategic API technology platforms (Springboot or MuleSoft).
Contribute to the API portfolio roadmap to define the vision and lifecycle of integration services.
Consult with platform stakeholders (SpringBoot, Mule, and IBM ACE) to minimize API tech debt and align with the product strategy.
This is a full-time, permanent role that is open to people based anywhere in New Zealand and Australia. This role offers flexible working conditions that support a mix of working from home and being in the office. Application closes 12 April 2024.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for the right person, with a good attitude who will be a solid team fit with the following skills and experiences:
Strong understanding of technology platforms, API integration, cloud services, and data exchange protocols.
Proven experience in understanding microservices architecture and interaction between experience, business, and exposure API layers.
Experience in creating REST API documentation using Swagger, RAML, SOAP, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of data modeling, mapping, and API contract negotiation.
Ability to think strategically and align integration efforts with business objectives.
Capable of translating business requirements into effective integration solutions.
Understand API architectures, standards, practices, lifecycle management, and business models.
Demonstrated capability in seeing the bigger picture, employing systems thinking, and conducting critical analysis to identify opportunities, challenges, and effective solutions.
Skilled in engaging, influencing, and managing expectations through effective negotiation, ensuring alignment and successful delivery.
Proficient in clear and effective communication, fostering collaboration, and building relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders.
