In this role we are looking for an exceptional Software Engineer (Intermediate) to join our team. You will have the opportunity to work in an innovative environment and contribute to the dynamics of an awesome team. We work in an Agile manner, and you will have an opportunity to build on what we have already achieved and grow with the team.
You'll contribute to all phases of the software development life cycle and work with the wider software engineering practice to constantly refine and improve our ways of working. Your ideas and suggestions will be valued and will help us on our continuous improvement journey.
Mercury operates flexible working hours with the ability to work from home. The team works up to three days per week from home (depending on meetings and activities).
Responsibilities Include:
Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following best practices that meet business requirements.
Build and maintain APIs and integrations across various systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, delivery leads, and QA, to ensure cohesive project execution.
Debug, test, and troubleshoot software to optimise performance and resolve issues.
Participate in code reviews to improve code quality and share knowledge.
Support continuous improvement by staying updated on new technologies and incorporate them as relevant to enhance our products and ways of working.
Document software solutions and processes for future reference and team understanding.
Qualifications and Experience:
Tertiary degree or similar level qualification in a technology-based discipline.
3-5 years of experience in software development, with hands-on experience in C# .NET Core in an enterprise environment.
Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems, with a desire to deepen knowledge in these areas.
Experience with RESTful API development and understanding of API best practices.
Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and exposure to tools like Git source control including Azure DevOps/GitHub.
Familiarity with TDD and experience with unit testing.
Understanding of SOLID principles and ability to write clean, maintainable code.
