Due to an internal promotion, Tuwharetoa ki Kawerau Hauora are looking for a Social Worker in Schools (SWiS) or Manukura Akona to work with tamariki and whanau within a Maori perspective environment to provide highly effective and empowering services through the utilisation of integrated TKKH support services. Underpinned by tikanga values, this role offers the real opportunity to make a difference to tamariki in our rohe and will be rewarding and exciting.
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
Meet all service delivery requirements of programme
Manage referrals and complete required assessments
Create and implement prevention and intervention programmes for tamariki and their whanau
Identify tamariki needs, and provide one-on-one support, mentoring and coaching
Foster strong networks with hapu, iwi, rangatahi groups, kura kaupapa Maori, health, and external agencies
Work collaboratively with colleagues, local employers, agencies and community providers
Complete reporting requirements efficiently.

Bachelor's in Social Work or working towards a Social Work Qualification
Experience working with Tamariki and Whanau
Case management experience
Experience working with children on a one-to-one basis
Previous experience working in a diverse organisation in a similar role
Strong understanding of TKKH and the Eastern Bay of Plenty communities
Current valid full drivers licence
Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills
Strong relationship and network management skills
Organisational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Appreciation of Te Reo Maori and understanding of tikanga Maori
