Te Aka Mauri- Rotorua Library is looking for a passionate Youth Learning and Engagement Specialist to develop and deliver programmes that engage youth with the library, unlocking opportunities through use of digital technology, encouraging creativity, ongoing learning and positive connections.

If you have previous experience in planning, developing and delivering training/educational programmes for youth, including curriculum based programmes that support literacy and wellbeing, with a strong focus on innovative use of digital technology…then this role will suit you. This role is 37 hours per week.
You will also need strong relationship building and collaboration skills and be comfortable working within Maori settings, ideally with knowledge of Te Reo and tikanga Maori.
You'll need to be someone who keeps up to date with developments in digital technologies and trends across the technology sector and have the ability to apply this knowledge to identify opportunities to achieve greater outcomes.
As you may be working with children, and potentially some who may be vulnerable, you must be comfortable taking responsibility and accountability for their safety and wellbeing.
A sense of humour alongside a strong work ethic will go a long way too.
