The College will welcome full-time female student enrolments for the first time in our long history at Year 11. Starting in Term 1 2025, our VCE Vocational Major program, based at our Preston campus, will be expanding our student offerings by introducing a new Tertiary Pathways Program. The Tertiary Pathways Program will include a second stream of our highly successful Sport Academy, along with a new Business Academy. Both academies will provide a bespoke educational opportunity that will allow students to gain direct entry into a number of undergraduate tertiary courses at La Trobe University upon completion of the two-year course. (This exciting initiative is subject to final approval by VRQA) The Position Learning Area Leaders are responsible for fostering a sense of unity, growth and development within their own Learning Area and within Year levels.The Learning Area Leader leads, develops and promotes the academic Science program of the College. In collaboration with Teaching and Learning Executive, the Teaching and Learning Team and with subject teachers, the Learning Area Leader works to inspire more enthusiastic, effective teaching, through authentic learning experiences, innovation, passion and purpose.The role has overall responsibility for the leadership of the Science Faculty (including Food Studies) ensuring exemplary teaching standards and learning outcomes for our students as they come to know the power of science and technologies and their interconnectivity in our world. The Learning Leader oversees the team of teachers and the Science Laboratory and Food Studies Technicians who contribute to a rich and diverse curriculum within their faculty, and has overall responsibility for the development and review of all curriculum documentation that further support the aims of the school and empowerment of our students as dynamic, curious and intelligent individuals.Applications are invited from suitably qualified collaborative, innovative and passionate emerging and experienced leaders.The successful candidate for this position will commence January 2025. The leadership appointment is for a two year term, with an ongoing teaching position associated with these appointments.
