Hybrid - permanent role in a supportive collaborative team
Take ownership
If you are seeking a role with daily challenges, problem solving and supporting our various users, this is a position that really adds value to the MIT business.
E pa ana ki te turanga - About the role:
MIT is in an exciting time of change and growth. This opportunity is part of the team that supports and develops MIT's Student Management System (SMS). The SMS Team is generally involved with most new systems established at MIT, as the SMS is the principal data software for student, curriculum, timetabling, enrolment, awards, and attendance. It is also the repository for the data that drives the Institute and ensures that MIT meets its statutory reporting requirements to the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC). The SMS is integrated with other existing MIT systems, and when these systems make enhancements, the SMS Team is involved in design decisions.
This role will suit someone who enjoys providing daily operational SMS application support with sound SQL writing skills to investigate user-reported issues, create or modify specific RDL, and can also communicate clearly to those with less technical know-how. Experience in IT systems and a Tertiary Qualification in IT Systems Administration or similar is preferred.
You will enjoy:
Being engaged in systems administration and the management of interfaces between the SMS and other systems (e.g., Protégé, Wallflower, Tech One, Salesforce CRM, Canvas LMS),
Contributing to meeting MIT's statutory reporting to the TEC, and
Assisting the team in testing and deploying version releases and service packs across four software environments,
Being part of a variety of new projects annually, each for the benefit of MIT's tauira (students) and system users.
You will work with some incredible people who are passionate about the positive impact we make on the communities we serve. We offer a work environment that values genuine people who care for others, are well-connected, open and approachable, and strive for excellence in all we do. If you are excited by the role and feel you would fit well into our organisation, we would love to hear from you.
