Labourer – Opportunities in the WaikatoAre you ready to make a meaningful impact in the construction and infrastructure industry?
Tradestaff are seeking a reliable and hardworking Labourer to join our dynamic team and work on sites across the Waikato region.
This role offers a variety of tasks, from operating machinery to performing critical road maintenance and construction activities, all while ensuring safety and quality standards are upheld.Your role will include but not limited to the following tasks:Key Responsibilities:Material Handling & Transport: Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment across various work sites.Construction & Site Work: Erect and dismantle temporary structures, mix and pour materials, and assist with precast concrete production.Infrastructure Maintenance: Perform repairs on fences, signs, bridges, and drainage systems, ensuring integrity and functionality.Machinery Operation: Operate and maintain road construction equipment, including road rollers, and ensure fleet vehicles are clean and in good working order.Earthworks & Site Preparation: Dig holes, level soil and gravel, and assist with site setup for road and driveway maintenance.Traffic Management: Assist with traffic control and manage sealing paper setup and removal.Spill Management & Safety Compliance: Maintain clean work sites and follow all safety instructions, including wearing proper PPE.General Labor Tasks: Support road maintenance activities, including asphalt compaction, pre-reseal repairs, and drainage work.
Undertake other duties as required by management to support team operations and project success.
What We're Looking For:A strong commitment to health and safety and attention to detail.Own reliable transportMinimum of one year of related experienceExperience with construction tools and equipment.Ability to operate and maintain road maintenance machinery.Physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to perform manual labor and work in varying conditions.Flexibility to perform a variety of physical tasks in varying conditions.New Zealand Traffic control certification, WTR and Class 2 license is an advantage.Extensive knowledge of Morrinsville, Piako, Hauraki, & Eastern Waikato NetworksAt least 2 work referencesAble to pass the pre-employment drug testIf you're ready to roll up your sleeves and contribute to building and maintaining vital infrastructure, we'd love to hear from you!
