Site Manager - Small Works Division (FIFO) Are you a skilled Site Manager with a passion for leading projects and hands-on site management? This FIFO (fly-in-fly-out) position, initially based in the Waikato region but with opportunities to work at various locations across New Zealand, is ideal for someone with commercial main contractor experience and a background in carpentry or a relevant construction qualification.
About the Role
In this role, you'll manage one project at a time, taking charge of on-site activities, coordinating subcontractors, and serving as the main point of contact for the client. You'll report directly to the Construction Manager (who will be on-site every 1-2 weeks) and will receive ongoing support from head office teams, including QS, Pre-Construction, and Health & Safety. This is a true hybrid role, blending foreman, site manager, and project manager responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead on-site teams, keeping projects on schedule and ensuring high-quality standards
Manage subcontractors and oversee daily site operations
Ensure rigorous compliance with health and safety protocols
Act as the client liaison, providing updates and maintaining clear communication
About You
The ideal candidate brings hands-on skills and leadership ability, with experience in a commercial main contractor environment. A background in carpentry or a construction-related qualification is preferred, and a strong understanding of end-to-end site management is essential.
