Korero mo te Turanga - About the Role This is a critical role that sits within our Business Technology Information Systems (BTIS) unit in Corporate Services. This team is key to supporting MPI's systems and its internal and external users. Users and areas that rely on our systems include monitoring of Fisheries observers out in the field through to Food Safety certifications for trade.
You will be managing priorities as they come in, with a strong focus on ensuring these services are available when the businesses need them. Each scenario will present a different challenge enabling you to grow your expertise and find alternative solutions.
Work alongside our ICT Business Partners, Infrastructure Services Owners, and Vendors in an informative, practical, and outcome-focused approach. Actively investigate and analyse business workflows and procedures to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement which is essential to keeping our systems running efficiently.
The team enjoys making it easier for our customers to do business. If we can enable the business to work faster and smarter, from sitting at a desk or standing in the middle of a field somewhere, then we are doing our job well.
Mou - About You You have a can-do attitude and a strong customer focus to support our customers across MPI's ICT services and solutions. Ideally, you will have strong experience, at least 2 years, working in a Service Delivery role or similar role. Due to the nature of this role and the response required, this position will be expected to be performed in the office, 5 days a week.
You will be able to demonstrate the ability to: Maintain and proactively build relationships both internally and externally. Identify and address ICT operational needs and improvements. Communicate clearly and effectively (both orally and in writing) with a wide range of people in different situations to explain and persuade others. Analyse technical issues and make business decisions with financial impact. Manage queues across multiple mailboxes and prioritise work. Update and produce quality user manuals, FAQs, intranet pages, guidelines, and more. Develop and implement communication plans and manage the delivery of professional communications. Ideally, you will have knowledge of the ITIL framework and working within IT Standards. Mo to matou Ropu - About the Team This is a large team of 14, all working with a passion to deliver quality work for MPI. We collaborate daily to make a meaningful difference to help grow and protect New Zealand. The team is passionate about the advice and guidance it delivers, which is crucial to keeping MPI's systems running effectively and ensures MPI staff and stakeholders can do their job easily.
We consistently work with our suppliers to improve how these services are delivered to MPI, and to the staff across the business. We also work closely with our strategic partners and other government agencies to understand what new technologies will be available in the market to assist MPI in achieving its business outcomes.
