The Service Manager role is an exciting leadership position within the Courts and Tribunals Regional Service Delivery team. As a Service Manager, you will coach and support employees to increase capability, foster a culture of high performance, and oversee the delivery of services to ensure operational quality and consistency. This role allows you to lead improvements across service delivery, collaborating with judiciary and external stakeholders. We are looking for someone with experience managing a team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the team's performance development and efficient performance whilst maintaining a positive team culture and environment. This role reports to a Manager Justice Services and works collaboratively with the team to strengthen people's trust in the Law of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Responsibilities include:
Managing and leading a team of 8 – 12 direct reports
Supporting consistent delivery across courts and tribunals
Ensuring operational quality and procedural compliance
Working with external partners, local iwi, and key stakeholders
Overseeing the resolution of operational issues and implementing improvements
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills, knowledge, and experience:
Bring a working knowledge of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the implications of these for the work of Te Tahu o te Ture – Ministry of Justice
Proven experience in leadership, operational management, and customer service delivery
Be adaptable in a changing operations and customer-centric environment
You will also possess well-developed interpersonal skills which will enable you to establish relationships and motivate others.
Strong analytical, tactical, and strategic ability

The appointing salary for this role will be between $97,208 - $135,539 based on skills and experience.
