Mo te turanga - About the role As a Senior Software Engineer in Funds Technology NZ, you'll play a key role in helping to build, test, and support solutions. You will partner with analysts and other squad members to understand requirements to ensure the delivery of work meets customer expectations. Engineers also promote a tech development culture at ANZ.
As Senior Software Engineer, you are accountable to:
Lead, design and develop systems & apps to meet technical / business requirements in accordance with ANZ's technical standards.
Ensure vendor supplied solutions meet technical / business requirements in accordance with ANZ's technical standards.
Work closely with Enterprise Architecture team and Lead Engineers to ensure application design complies with architectural standards.
Ensure clear technical governance & quality control standards are followed by technical team.
Leading production support resolutions, including, at times, outside of business hours.
Follow architecture guidelines and strategy laid down by ANZ.
Lead continuous improvements for quality control and identify, lead & implement methods of process improvement, systems quality and efficiency.

Ou Pukenga? - What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Technical mastery, ability to take part in continuous improvement practices, ability to adopt strategic technologies and frameworks.
Experience with development SDLC tooling such as IDEs - ideally Visual Studio or similar, Source Control - ideally Git/Github/Bitbucket (or similar such as TFS), CI/CD - ideally Jenkins/CodeFresh/TeamCity.
Working knowledge with Microsoft SQL Server stack (or similar RDBMS such as Oracle/PostgreSQL).
Working experience with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) webserver (or similar such as Apache/Nginx).
Basic grasp of core networking concepts (IP/MAC/port/route/DNS/TCP/UDP/firewall/load balancer/etc...).
Working experience with Public Key Infrastructure/certificate management and Cloud experience – ideally AWS EC2/RDS (or similar such as GCP/Azure).
Strong technical leadership and extensive experience in leading commercial software development as a senior technical lead.
