Senior Software Developer

Details of the offer

Developers/Programmers (Information & Communication Technology)
Full time
Want to work somewhere where you are doing good for the world, your community and yourself at the same time?
Whatever your role at Vector, we'll stretch you to find solutions for some of the world's biggest challenges. And they don't get much bigger than redesigning our energy future for a world of EV's and home solar generation to help mitigate the impacts of climate change.
If you want to do a power of good for yourself and the world, consider a career at VTS.
The role
We're a team on a mission to revolutionise the way energy data is managed, accessed and used globally. The software we build aims to liberate the energy information crucial to energy innovation by co-developing global energy data platforms in collaboration with AWS.
As Senior Software Developer, you'll:
Use your advanced software development skills to build software - primarily in Java, but also at times with frontend frameworks like React, and infrastructure automation with Terraform.
Grow in your role and in your career, collaborating with leading global partners such as AWS to build valuable software systems for a global customer base.
Work in a stable, product-focused agile team and have a voice in what we build, and how we build it.
Learn (and teach) how to use TDD, BDD, and automated application deployment for effective software delivery.
Gain experience with AWS services like Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, and more.
Who are we looking for?
You'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Software development experience: advanced knowledge in Backend programming with Java, Spring, and experience of using tooling and process to ensure quality in the software development life cycle.
Excitement about solving problems and learning.
A passion for helping and caring for others in your team.
Why us?
Whether it's the opportunity to work on challenges on a truly global scale in collaboration with leading technology firms, or to build a legacy for Auckland and New Zealand through your work; or perhaps to work in an innovative and transformative sector, or our commitment to supporting your development, there's a myriad of reasons to choose a career with VTS.
We also offer:
A fun, flexible and stimulating work environment, full of interesting work being done by smart and innovative people.
Flexibility, including the choice of working from home a couple of days a week, and flexible start and finish times so you can balance work and life.
Health and wellbeing support.
Great benefits that reflect the importance of family.
Apply
Vector engages a workforce made up of people and teams with diverse skills, values, backgrounds and experiences. We respect and value people who are different from each other, including gender, ethnicity, disability, age, sexual orientation, race and religion.
If you require assistance or accessibility support from us during the application and selection process, please do get in touch with us on 09 213 0268.
