As a B2B company, we partner with leading energy retailers and distributors in New Zealand and Australia.We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Developer to join the Bluecurrent Digital team. As a Software Developer, you will work collaboratively in product teams and with stakeholders to define and deliver detailed application design and development for a solution, by developing high quality, fit-for-purpose software solutions using the design, development, testing and maintenance phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC).Key responsibilities include:Design, develop and test software in accordance with the SDLC, Quality Assurance policy, Governance frameworks, Architectural Roadmap, coding and testing standards and using appropriate design patterns and best practices.Full Stack Development.Providing recommendations in various areas such as business analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and support.Ensure peer reviews are conducted for all specification and code changes.DevOps, CI/CD practices and Software Development Tools.Accountable for development and maintenance of solutions from conception to retirement, including acceptance into production and on-going production support.Understanding and contributing to new feature requirements and recommending appropriate solutions.Who we are looking for:To be successful in this role, you will ideally have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or a minimum of 5 years Software development experience. You will also have proven experience in:Programming languages - Java (or equivalent Object Oriented Language).Databases - Oracle, SQL Server Integration Services, Non-SQL databases.Frameworks - Spring, Hibernate, JMS, JPA, EJB 3.Exposure to various integration technologies e.g. AWS, Mulesoft ESB, WebLogic, Tomcat, Active MQ, HAProxy, API Gateways.Experience in integration and migration practices.Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD).Waterfall IT delivery and Agile delivery practices.Consulting skills with the ability to quickly understand stakeholder or customer contexts.You will have a problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset with a strong focus on the customer. Your organisational and attention to detail will be exceptional and your communication, relationship building and influencing skills will be excellent with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, with all stakeholders.About Us:Bluecurrent was formed in 2023 after a joint venture between Vector and QIC was established.
