We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Analyst to join our team based in Auckland CBD in a full time, permanent role.
Ko ta matou mahi - About the role
Working in a close-knit team of dedicated security personnel, this role is responsible for performing advanced security analysis for our customers, using various technologies and software. You will act as an escalation point for Security Analysts requiring assistance with detection of / and response to security alerts, in the Cyber Defence Operations centre.
Ko to mahi – What you will do
Duties include:
Provide second line response of security alerts, detections, and events
Create Incident tickets as appropriate and perform advanced investigations into Incident activity, interpret the implications of that activity and devise plans for appropriate resolution
Identify events and incidents of interest and carry out advanced analysis and triage, implement Cyber Incident Response Plans and playbooks as appropriate to resolution and reporting
Able to solve complex problems while under pressure
Managing the incident through to resolution or identifying an opportunity for tuning
Monitor all managed security service solutions for efficient and appropriate operations
Escalate incidents and events to Security Specialist(s) or the Cyber Defence Operations Leader / Manager as appropriate using established threat escalation protocols / playbook procedures
Develop recommendations for continual service improvement
Responsible for meeting advanced technical training and certification requirements
Integrate and share information with other analysts and other teams
Assist with troubleshooting and problem resolution on security equipment
Mentor interns, graduates and newly appointed analysts, ensuring team capabilities and individual skills are developed and continuously improved
Participate in on-call roster (on agreement)

Working with a range of security tools you will have experience in some, or all, of the following:
Relevant security and network qualifications (AZ500, MS500, SC100/200/300/400)
Relevant security and network experience (MS Defender, Crowd Strike, Sentinel SIEM, Threat Intel, Network Security, Cryptography, Email protection)
A strong interest in security and networks
Strong understanding of network protocols and common authentication methods
Maintains awareness of threat landscape
As this is a client facing role, you will have strong communication skills and the ability to relay technical information to non-technical individuals. You like to collaborate and don't mind rolling up your sleeves and mucking in where needed.
