With a passionate team of 100+ based in the Auckland and Christchurch CBD, we are committed to the success of our customers.About the role:Reporting to the Deputy General Manager of the Risk and Compliance Department, you will play a critical role in enhancement of the bank's comprehensive risk management frameworks. This role involves overseeing a variety of tasks to ensure the effectiveness and compliance of the bank's risk management processes. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact across all risk areas, including credit, market, operational, liquidity, compliance, ESG, model risk.Key responsibilities:ERM: Identify and assess potential risks across all areas of the bank, support the bank's enterprise risk management, and help maintain effective risk governance, risk policy and systems.Quality Assurance: Conduct internal quality checks to ensure the policies and guidelines are implemented effectively.Risk appetite: Collaborate with senior management and the board to define risk appetite and tolerance, developing strategies that align with industry trends and business objectives.Risk Monitoring Framework: Develop the bank's risk monitoring framework by leveraging the power of risk data to support ongoing risk management.Risk Insights: Track, communicate, and draw insights through intensive monitoring, providing risk management advice.Risk Policy: Review and update risk policies and work procedures regularly to enhance compliance and effectiveness of the bank's risk management.Risk Data Strategy: Develop strategies for risk data management, report automation, and insights analysis.ESG: Prepare reports and disclosures related to climate risks.Simplification: Drive a culture of risk and compliance by identifying process improvements and simplification opportunities.Leadership: Provide professional coaching and development support to junior colleagues.About you:You will have 7+ years of experience in the financial services industry, with a strong background in risk management.You will bring excellent communication and relationship-building skills, allowing you to work effectively across all levels of the organisation.Proficiency in SQL/R, Excel, and risk management systems is essential.Qualifications:Tertiary qualified in Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Risk Management or a related field.Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and practices.Proven ability to develop innovative solutions and think laterally.Ability to quickly build and maintain internal and external relationships.Experience in managing treasury risk and climate risks and reporting.Experience in coaching and mentoring teams to high performance.Why Bank of China New Zealand?At Bank of China (New Zealand) Limited we're growing fast, so there's no limit to what you can learn and where you can go.
