Business Performance Manager

Do you want to be at the forefront leading & transforming the way things are done, making a real impact across an entire organisation? Based in East Tamaki - Auckland, this new opportunity will oversee and lead the team for all contestable tenders including the shared services team across Auckland. This is a senior role for the Auckland business with the primary customer being Vector. This role will provide services for the three business units within Auckland ensuring consistent delivery across the greater Auckland business.
The role Reporting to the General Manager Northern Contracting, as the Business Performance Manager, you'll be responsible for providing leadership, management and delivery of all tendering works for Customer Initiated and Capital Projects, meeting Northpower's and our clients' expectations relative to the agreed performance targets and contractual obligations. The level of work being bid on via this team is circa $150 - $200M p.a.
You will be pivotal in embedding operational excellence across our Auckland Region Contracting teams. You'll focus on management practices that build a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Leading and mentoring teams to drive change by coaching across the business, helping them to embrace Operational Excellence principlesProviding a pipeline of work for the delivery teams, including design and engineering servicesFulfil the expectations of Northpower first: Safety, Quality, Environmentally and FinanciallyConsistently deliver customer requirements to high standard, minimising risk and keeping to agreed budgetMeeting customer and Northpower quality standards: including scheduling, planning, liaising with customers, subcontractors, consultants, contractors and design estimators / engineers to deliver cost effective solutionsDemonstrating our values by being recognised by others as a leader that sets the standards for the teamsWhat's in it for you? You will have a wealth of operational experience, at least 10 years, across electrical distribution networks where you can build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with consistency and composure to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction. You will show initiative and professionalism as expected in the role. You should have:
Tertiary qualification in Business Management, Commerce, Finance or electrical (Preferred)Solid leadership and mentoring skills to effectively engage at multiple levelsProven Financial management experience and have an excellent understanding of the various facets of contractingRobust commercial and analytical skillsAstute in Performance and Conflict managementBe a strategic, critical thinker with good judgment and sound decision making under pressureExcellent listening skillsAbility to influence key stakeholders whilst demonstrating integrity and trust in a multicultural and multi-skilled environmentEnjoy working as part of a team in a very busy team environmentTenacity to take problems through to successful outcomes despite potential barriersAbility to foresee challenges, read situations and respond efficiently and effectivelyAbout us Northpower is an electricity and fibre network provider for Whangarei and Kaipara, with more than 60,000 connected customers and over 90 years of network ownership.
