About the role
We have an opportunity for a senior resource management planner consents to join our consenting team. The senior resource management planner consents is responsible for processing resource management applications in compliance with associated legislation including the RMA. They also provide support and direction to our junior planners and administrators.
Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Provide best practice advice on the processing of resource and building consents applications.
Process resource consent applications, variations, alterations/requirements for designations, creation/cancellation of easements and various certificates.
Make decisions on applications in accordance with the relevant delegations.
Liaise and negotiate with applicants and submitters, mediate and conduct pre-hearing meetings.
Quality assurance and authorisation of draft resource consent decisions from consultants and team members and supporting junior team members in their professional development.
To be successful in this role you will:
Have an appropriate tertiary qualification in planning, resource management or environmental management.
Have at least four years post-qualification experience as a planner.
Possess strong drive to succeed and be motivated by continuous improvement.
Possess high attention to detail, organisation and communication skills.
Be passionate about developing and supporting others in their planning career.
