Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer (Java) - Contractor Testing & Quality Assurance (Information & Communication Technology) Contract/Temp Here at Datacom, we connect people and technology in order to solve challenges, create opportunities and discover new possibilities for the communities we live in.
About the Role Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Java 11+, Swagger, Postman, Junit 5, Rest Assured, and mocking tools.
Contribute to the creation of user stories and ensure alignment with stakeholder requirements.
Apply Agile concepts to drive efficient testing processes.
Containerize applications and utilize Docker for testing environments.
Conduct testing for Rest APIs, API Security, Service Discovery, Distributed tracing, and Cloud Concepts.
Implement and execute tests in an Agile environment.
Promote API best practices, reusability, and resilience.
Drive automation initiatives and integrate them into the CI/CD pipeline using Azure DevOps (ADO).
Apply ITSM practices to ensure efficient testing and incident management.
Test Microservices architecture and applications.
Possess the flexibility and willingness to support other roles, such as transitioning from Automation to Functional testing when needed.
Exposure to the Insurance or Banking sector is desirable.
Requirements What skills do we need?
Strong proficiency in Java 11+, Swagger, Postman, Junit 5, Rest Assured, and mocking tools.
Knowledge of Spring boot, Java 17+ and the Netflix Stack (Zuul, Ribbon, Eureka) is a plus.
Familiarity with Agile concepts and stakeholder management.
Proficiency in containerization, Rest APIs, API Security, Service Discovery, Distributed tracing, Cloud Concepts, and Microservices.
Hands-on experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines, particularly Azure DevOps (ADO).
Knowledge of JIRA, and Confluence is advantageous.
Openness to the idea of Pairing and a demonstrated sense of ownership.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
