As the Senior Media Specialist, you will be the go-to person for media and communications advice, providing strategic communications and issues management advice for our senior leaders and experts.
Key responsibilities will include:
Developing and implementing communications strategies and plans
Identifying and delivering on proactive storytelling opportunities
Building great relationships with media outlets
Positioning Auckland Transport as an organisation that puts its customers first as it works to transform Auckland's transport system
Providing best practice media and communications advice to business units and communications colleagues across Auckland Transport and our partner agencies
Supporting with crisis and emergency management communications
Na tau rourou | What will you bring?
You will have excellent interpersonal and relationship skills, coupled with political awareness and an excellent risk radar. You will develop and implement communications strategies, utilising your strong oral and written communication skills.
To be successful in this role you will need:
A tertiary qualification in Communications or Journalism is desired but not essential
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a relevant communications advisory role or 5 years' experience as a reporter in a media organisation
