He angitutanga | About the role
As Senior Heritage Advisor, you will be a crucial link between regional teams and national heritage strategies, providing specialist archaeological advice to ensure alignment and integration. You'll collaborate with regional leadership to enhance our heritage capabilities and understanding, bridging the gap between local and national teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with regional leadership to align regional work programmes with national heritage and visitor strategies.

Act as a key liaison between regional operations and national heritage teams.

Strengthen the regional team's heritage knowledge and skills.

Support and provide heritage advice into complex projects, including planning, scoping, commissioning, and reviewing work.

Engage with Maori, iwi, technical experts, community members, and heritage agencies at all levels.

Provide specialist heritage advice for operational projects.

Communicate effectively through clear, concise written and oral communications.

Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experience
We are looking for a minimum of five years' experience in heritage conservation, a relevant tertiary qualification, and proven skills in relationship management and stakeholder influence. You should have a strong track record of providing expert heritage advice, particularly in collaboration with Maori and iwi communities, and leading complex projects. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.

Experience in delivering high-quality heritage advice and leading complex projects.

Strong written and oral communication abilities.

Relevant tertiary qualification and significant experience in heritage conservation.

The salary range for this position is $92,450 to $116,985 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
